Far from mass tourism, the nature surrounding us invites serenity, calm, and rest. Reading a book by the pool or taking a nap in a chair could be part of your future activities with us.
You’ll be staying in the village of São Romão, which has a few shops and bakeries, as well as a small square with bars and cafés. You can easily walk there from the house (about a 20-minute walk).
For those who love to walk, the natural park is excellent for hiking or biking, with approximately 375 kilometers of marked trails at various difficulty levels. For more information, feel free to ask us or visit: www.icnf.pt
Bike rentals (near the house) are available for an additional fee.
You’ll find suggested walking or biking routes in your accommodation.

In winter, Serra da Estrela is the only place in Portugal where you can ski, sled, snowboard, or ride snowmobiles. There are several slopes with facilities, as well as artificial snow runs.
The ski slopes are 25 km from the house.

For those who love adrenaline, it is possible to try paragliding (by reservation only : https://clubevertical.org/)
You can also rent a buggy for 4 or 6 people (price upon request) to take an unforgettable tour in the mountains and venture off the beaten path.
The company is called Hillstar Buggy and is located 15 minutes by car from the house.

Every Wednesday, a local market is held in Seia, featuring flowers and plants, decorative items, Portuguese textiles, clothing, bags, and more.Every morning, there’s another market for fruits and vegetables.
No fewer than 7 river beaches are listed in the area around the house.

Life here is filled with local festivities that you won’t want to miss!
The festival schedule changes constantly, so feel free to reach out to us for information.
In 1 hour and 30 minutes, you can reach Figueira da Foz, a well-known seaside resort famous for its long stretch of beach, as well as the small fishing ports of Mira and Tocha, surrounded by deserted beaches, dunes, and pine forests.
Further north, in Aveiro, you’ll discover a charming town surrounded by canals (no wonder it’s called the “Portuguese Venice”). Make a stop at Praia da Costa Nova to admire the famous “Palheiros,” colorful striped beach houses that are now holiday residences. It’s definitely worth the trip!
Located 17 km from the house, this is a recreational area by the river, overlooking the waterfall. A footbridge connects both banks of the river, winding above the water and allowing you to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the region.
You will also find three circular hiking trails, each with a different level of difficulty.
Please note that during the summer, there is very little water flow since it comes from mountain runoff (snowmelt).

You’ll find plenty of typical Portuguese restaurants in the area around the house, with the closest one just 1.1 km away. We’ll be happy to recommend our favorite restaurants !
